First aid tips
First aid in the office versus on a construction site: different risks, different approaches
A first aid kit for an office does not look like one for a construction site or a kitchen. Why sector-specific provisions make the difference.

“We already have a first aid kit” is often the answer when the subject comes up. But a standard kit rarely covers the risks that are truly relevant to your workplace.
Offices: hidden risks
Serious accidents are rarer in offices, but not unheard of: fainting, stress-induced hyperventilation and — often underestimated — cardiovascular problems among a workforce whose average age is increasing. Chest pain, a stroke or an epileptic seizure: situations in which prompt, accurate recognition matters more than physical intervention.
Construction & logistics: direct, physical risks
Here, acute, visible injuries are more common: severe bleeding, amputations, burns, electrocution, falls from height. The time between the accident and first aid is often the most decisive factor here — and this is precisely where a clear, step-by-step action card matters most, because panic increases the risk of mistakes.
Hospitality: heat, knives and allergies
Burns from frying fat or hot surfaces, cuts, choking (think of the Heimlich manoeuvre) and food allergies among customers are recurring scenarios here.
Schools & youth work: a different audience, a different approach
Small, frequent accidents (falls, grazes) alternate with rarer but more serious situations such as insect bites or stings, asthma attacks or epilepsy in children — often with an added layer: communicating with parents and supervisors.
One kit with the wrong contents creates a false sense of security
A first aid kit that is not adapted to your sector makes you feel that you are “all set” — without actually being so when it matters. That is why Actibox sector boxes exist: the same reliable core, supplemented with the nine cards most relevant to your sector.
